Halo -Dough Bar . Creamery & Cafe-

An all in one for your taste.

We found Halo while chasing their Avocado Ice Cream, which has taken Instagram by storm. But let’s not jump to dessert so fast. Halo has a complete brunch menu that is to die for.

Overlooking the water at The Pearl, Halo has the perfect location for an afternoon date or a girls coffee chat. With a cozy atmosphere, attentive staff, and a delicious insta-worthy menu; Halo made us lose track of time, and plates.

As soon as we walked in their staff greeted us with a smile and menu in hand. We went directly to the drinks portion, more specifically coffee (because what else?). We went bold and classic. On the classic side we chose the Chemex brewed coffee with what I think was a hint of tea (don’t quote me on that one, go try it and let me know) and on the more bold side the Halo Affogato, a shot of espresso to pour on top of a scoop of vanilla ice cream (definitely my favorite).

To order food we wanted everything, each plate description sounded completely delicious, but we had to pick. Started with the Crispy Potato Rosti which is roasted crispy potatoes, guacamole, pickled beetroot and sour cream. OMG!! I got no words! Let’s just say that it’s a must! The guacamole and sour cream balanced the whole plate and gave it a nice flavor.

Then we ordered the Truffle Egg Benedict; truffle hollandaise, poached egg on a croissant, you can add veal bacon or turkey bacon, I added the turkey bacon and my favorite part of it was the ruffle hollandaise sauce, it was delicious.

Next the Egg Bun; creamy omelet, crispy potato sticks, monterey jack, chipotle aioli, on a house milk bun, you can add veal bacon, turkey bacon or smoked salmon, we added smoked salmon. The chipotle aioli gave it a great subtle spicy flavor.

And finally what we came here for, the Avocado Ice cream! Half avocado toped with soft cream avocado ice cream; I was a bit worried that the ice cream was going to be overpowering, but I was wrong, the ice cream was creamy and with a hint of avocado flavor, which paired very well with the half avocado.

For dessert we couldn’t pass the opportunity to try one of the many donut options, we went for the Salted Dulce de Leche, which was a bit too sweet for my taste but definitely delicious.

I think is clear we had a delicious and relaxing brunch here at Halo! Keep an eye at their instagram @Halo.QA they are constantly adding new creations to their menu. What's your favorite plate? We are looking forward to our next visit.

Safe travels!

Until next time, Jailene
