Miami on a Budget! Why is everyone traveling to Miami and why you should too?

Let's start by saying is a vacation paradise on a budget. Remember to track your budget or it might get out of control quickly if you don't. Miami will try to devour you!

We took a trip to Miami and let's cut to the chase, we spent $652.42 . A trip for 2; 4 days 3 nights (flights, car rental, Airbnb, food and drinks.. tons of drinks).

Here is how we did it!

Flights - $136

Airbnb - $103.54

Car Rental - $141.40

Gas - $17

Food - $141.68

Drinks - $92.80

Groceries - $20

Let's explain all of this...

First of all flights: $136 {$69 pp round trip}

We took a flight leaving San Juan, PR on a Wednesday around 5am! We booked this flight 6 weeks in advance. Why do I mention all of these details? Because those are the price changing details that helped us book a round trip flight so cheap. Next Airbnb: $103.54 {Private room with bathroom and private entrance in a shared house}

Hotels are so overrated! For a quick trip and to keep it on a budget, I'd recommend you go for an Airbnb or a Hostel. Which is what we did! We found a nice room with a private bathroom, small kitchen, private entrance and parking on a shared house which, to be honest, we only saw the owners once and that was because they were on the balcony. We felt comfortable and it had all we needed and a bit more. Book with Airbnb and get $25OFF with my coupon! Enjoy!

Now Car rental + Gas: $158.40

This was an expense that we regret a bit. But if you prefer the flexibility of having a car use Expedia.com to compare different sites and offers

in one search engine, making it easy to find the perfect deal for you. Most probably, next time we won't be renting a car, instead we'll use Uber, which makes a bit more sense, you forget about looking for a parking spot, having a DD, and Where did I park? If you are the Uber type, your next ride is on us! Here's a coupon, FREERIDE.

Of course Food: $141.68

Food is one of the things that will mess up your budget really fast! We researched in advance different restaurants and we divided them by days, this helped us to always have a budget friendly, good restaurant to eat and not make this decisions out of the blue. But of course stay open to try a place you just walked by and calls for your attention. A few places we recommend.

Of course Drinks: $92.80

Vacation + Beach + Great company (or even solo) pairs really well with nice drinks. Look for happy hour! That will save your budget and keep your drinking time to a few hours instead of the whole day or at whatever time. A few places we recommend.

Extra Groceries: $20

I'll say as soon as you land, go do a bit of groceries, just the essential and just the amount that you know will be enough for the time you will be there. We did it, and got water, snacks, coffee, and a bottle of wine. This will help you keep those small expenses to a minimum.

I hope these tips help you to have a great trip and more easy on the wallet. And hey maybe what you used to spend on one trip can be divide into two or even three trips.

Let us know what do you love about Miami and what do you do to keep expenses to a minimum?

Until next time, Jailene
