With Memorial Day rapidly showing up in our calendars, May is almost over and we all need to get ready for Summer, but before that we have rounded up the perfect getaways for this weekend without ending up in a crowded beach, and all of this in our beautiful island.
a bit of history...
Memorial Day is an American holiday, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the US military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many spend Memorial Day visiting cemeteries, memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades.
So if you have no plans or have a spare time this weekend we have compiled a few getaways that will guarantee you an amazing time. Rating from easy to hard, and giving you the details to get you ready and on the road.
Roadtrip
The most dynamic and my personal favorite! Go on a road trip, luckily for us our island is only 100x35, and a weekend is enough time to go around and enjoy all its beauty. A nice drive through hwy 143, best known as "Ruta Panoramica" (Scenic Route) will give you a fresh breeze of air, with a ton of local places to eat and drink, meeting nice people along the road.
